Allow Business Terms to be grouped by Catalog

Similar to how you in business user portal user's can drill down on the metadata based on a hierarchy in the metadata manager system in DI the business terms section should also be grouped by catalog hierarchy for ease of usability.  The filter section requires the user to know the catalog hierarchy name.

  • Hi Tonya,

In the BUP Business Terms area, we have the capability to select a catalog and filter down the business terms. You will see a catalog view icon next to the search and sort icons. clicking this will open the list of available catalogs. to select a catalog, click the Blue circle next to the Catalog Name. this will filter the terms for the selected catalog.

This is applicable to other business assets as well. I am attaching a screenshot for your reference.

    • Kartik Sridhar  I want users to se be able to see the properties of the Catalog including the description and set glossaries as favorites.  The feedback from users is this catalog design is not intuitive. I am aware that Mapping Manager and other Business Assets have similar design.  Why is there option to manage catalog and sub catalog level attributes on these asset types in Data Intelligence if they are not visible in the Business User Portal?  Working around this design by using different asset types and business term forms is complicated by the limitation to set workflow logic and assign users at a catalog level only.
